Daughters Of Charity Hospital Will Host Misys MyWay For Communities To Expand Small Practice Health Network

Physicians And Patients Throughout California Will Realize Benefits of Community EMR

RALEIGH, N.C. – April 29, 2008 – Misys Healthcare Systems (FTSE: MSY.L), a market leader in healthcare IT, today announced a multi-million dollar contract with Daughters of Charity Health System (DCHS), to expand its health network across California through the use of Misys MyWay™ for Communities.  Over the next three months, DCHS will present Misys MyWay to San Jose, Los Angeles and Bay Area physician practices at a subsidized rate to encourage increased adoption.  Daughters of Charity Health System will offer Misys MyWay for Communities as a hosted solution offering wide-ranging capabilities for electronic medical records (EMRs), practice management and claims management.

“Practice implementation is a vital component of community connectivity,” said Richard Hutsell, vice president and CIO, Daughters of Charity Health System.  “To expand our health network, regional physicians need access to a cost-effective, user-friendly EMR.  With the Stark Law exception and Anti-Kickback Safe Harbor, we can now offer Misys MyWay to physician practices at a subsidized rate.  Misys MyWay for Communities will bridge the gap between hospitals and small practices, equipping doctors to provide better care and making Daughters of Charity a superior healthcare resource for our communities.”

Since 2006 Daughters of Charity Hospital, a regional healthcare system of six hospitals and care centers spanning the California coast has hosted Misys EMR and Misys Vision for area physician practices.  DCHS will offer Misys MyWay for Communities to additional practices on a subscription basis, considerably reducing the implementation cost.  As a result, more California physicians will realize the benefits of EMRs and can deliver enhanced patient care through immediate access to all patient information.

“Daughters of Charity Hospital shares Misys’ vision of creating connected healthcare communities,” said R. L. (Vern) Davenport, executive vice president and general manager of Misys Healthcare.  “By purchasing licenses of Misys software the hospital has made a significant investment to help California physicians provide premium care. Misys developed Misys MyWay not only to demonstrate the evolution of interoperability but also to help hospitals invest in their communities.”

Misys MyWay for Communities reduces the need for paper-based or other physical documents to be generated and transferred among various constituents, streamlining processes, saving time and improving efficiency.  Physicians can easily order lab tests through Misys MyWay and receive results and notifications directly in return.  Misys MyWay for Communities also features adaptive learning, intelligent navigation and easy customization.
