Electronic Medical Records and Practice Management Systems

Misys has developed a flexible product package and pricing system to help ensure a quick return on investment (ROI) for your practice.  In a study we recently undertook with a major consulting firm, it became clear that over eighty percent of the benefits of using Electronic medical records systems can be gained even if the physician does not touch the software or hardware.  This means you can choose to leave the patient interface and the examination room as they are, without sacrificing the financial benefits of using an Electronic medical records system.

Because we've worked with physician practices for so long, we know that one solution doesn't fit the needs of every organization. Therefore, Misys EMR was designed as modular components.  Modules within the practice management system such as orders management and document imaging can be implemented in early phases, while point of care charting and charge passing can be implemented later.

Or, if your medical practice is on a more accelerated timeframe, Misys can help you become fully operational from the start with supportive implementation and training. Choose the modules you need, when you need them – it's all up to you.

Standard Misys Electronic Medical Records Features and Modules

View Patient Summary Data Easily

View patient summary data on one screen. Take a quick glance at patient medications, allergies, problems, procedures, chart notes, clinical alert notes and more. You can also see lab results, patient-related e-mails and images scanned through Misys Document Manager™. Expand the screen for more detail –even jump to entry screens. Drop-down lists, buttons and tabs make navigating a breeze. You customize the Summary Screen to display the information you want to see.

Complete Chart Notes Quickly

Pre-defined, specialty-specific templates add ease and efficiency to your exam and procedure note documentation process. Build a note by selecting structured text from glossaries, entering vitals, dictating within the note, and even writing free text. You can preview a chart note during its creation and print or fax it on demand. And, if you use the Coding Assistant feature, your note can be evaluated against CMS documentation guidelines to suggest the appropriate E&M code.

Document Imaging
Misys Document Manager™ is a state-of-the-art scanning and imaging solution that imports and electronically stores files and documents such as lab and pathology reports, discharge summaries and EOBs. Once stored electronically, documents can be easily retrieved for viewing, faxing or printing. When used with Misys' Electronic medical records system, Misys Document Manager allows scanned or imported documents to become part of a patient's electronic medical record.

Efficiently Utilize an Electronic Task List

One screen shows it all – appointments, messages, pending charts and test results. Navigate easily from messages to pending charts to test results and back, all while monitoring patient activity within the office on the check-in screen.

Orders Management
A key feature of any Electronic medical records system is integrated orders management – and Misys EMR has it covered. With the Misys EMR Orders Management solution, you can enter orders, retrieve and review results, print reports, generate charges and more. Gain quick access to test results and check for redundant orders and medical necessity. Includes HL7 interfacing with leading national reference labs.

Medication Management, Write Accurate and Legible Prescriptions

Ensure accuracy and reduce time spent on refill requests by selecting medications from a drug database or creating a pick list of your most frequently prescribed medications. Print or fax prescriptions, and refill or discontinue medications easily. Screen for potential drug therapy risks and print patient education material with the drug utilization review feature. Comprehensive formulary information from managed care organizations, pharmacy benefit management companies, HMOs and PPOs, including status, cost index, therapeutic class and subclass, can also be viewed before prescribing.

Advanced Reporting

Turn information into knowledge with Misys Query™, a set of Windows-based tools for data analysis and reporting. The tool set includes two powerful applications – Impromptu® and PowerPlay®, both from Cognos®, the industry leader in third party reporting tools. And if you use our practice management system, Misys Tiger, Cognos can generate custom reports on any field in either system..
