Alert Manager Module

 

 

The Alert Manager module is an optional Web-based application that integrates with your existing Patient Tasks in Misys Homecare. The Alert Manager gives you a central system from which you can easily communicate with all your employees in the field – quickly, efficiently, and either manually or automatically.

 

Using Alert Manager, you can create and manage tasks as well as send and receive alerts. These alerts can be reminders to accomplish a task or meet a deadline. An ideal tool for communicating with field personnel, Alert Manager can send your reminders to specific employees via pager, mobile phone, e-mail, and through pop-up windows within the Misys Homecare system. Each employee can specify the means by which he or she prefers to receive alerts.

 

Remote users can easily receive, view, and delete the online alerts you send them with Alert Manager. The system can send prewritten alert messages. Or you can create an send your own alerts using free-form text.

 

The ability to transmit wireless messages to a mobile phone or pager means your employees do not need access to a laptop or desktop computer with an Internet connection to receive and read your notice. So you can instantly communicate with them anytime, anywhere, and manage them more effectively.

 

Fully integrated with your Patient Task List

The Alert Manager module works in conjunction with Misys Homecare's Enhanced Patient Task List. Once the Alert Manager module is installed, it can share the same tables for tasks used by the Patient Task List. Because of the shared task tables, you can update all activities within a task concurrently for both Alert Manager and Patient Task List.

 

In addition, you can choose whether you want to manage tasks within Alert Manager, Patient Task List, or both. For each task, you can specify who the task is assigned to, the actions to be taken, the patient, the status, and priority and deadline. Both the Enhanced Patient Task List and the Alert Manager allow you to create tasks for specific employees that are not linked with a patient.

  

Automated rules manage your work flow

Future enhancements to the Alert Manager module will enable you to define and manage auto-generated rules, based on the states and activities within the Misys Homecare application.

 

In the current release, a home health aide supervision rule automatically alerts you that a patient being taken care of by a home health aid needs a supervisory visit by a nurse, based on a predetermined interval you specify. By creating your own customized rules and settings, you'll be able to automate your agency's work flow, ensure regulatory compliance, and enhance the level of patient care.

 

For instance, you'll be able to tell Alert Manager to send alerts to specific employees (the billing manager, the head of nursing) whenever a new patient is admitted – eliminating the need for you to notify them yourself — and set up any other work flow patterns you desire.

  

Here's what Alert Manager can do for you

With the Alert Manager module, you and your agency staff can:

 

•  Create, send, and receive tasks remotely through Misys 

   Homecare.

•  Define a category for every task (e.g., clinical, A/R).

•  Include task details such as identification of recipient,

   receiver, priority, and other pertinent data.

•  Set priorities for responding to and taking action on tasks.

•  Customize the subject line of the task.

•  Send auto-generated alerts and tasks based on predefined

   events, patient status, or recipient  (e.g., discharge,

   admission).

•  Accept or decline an assignment specified in an alert or

   task.

•  Assign a due date to each task.

•  Automatically alert the sender and recipient when the due

   date for the task has passed.

•  View all events at a glance.

•  View details of any alert.

•  View all tasks assigned to you across all patients.

•  Pre-define alerts and tasks to be generated in the system

   through rules.

•  Link specific alerts to specific tasks.

 

System requirements

The Alert Manager module runs on a Windows 2000 or 2003 server with your existing Misys Homecare database – no additional database memory space required. It supports popular Internet access protocols, ISPs, online services, cell phones, and alphanumeric pagers.
