What is SEMI? 
SEMI is the Southeastern Michigan e-Prescribing initiative – a program that offers incentives to physicians to adopt e-Prescribing in their practices in an effort to reduce medication errors, decrease prescription drug costs and improve practice efficiency. Last July General Motors, Ford Motor Company , DaimlerChrysler Corp., Henry Ford Medical Group, Health Alliance Plan, BlueCross BlueShield of Michigan and Medco Health Solutions, Inc. – announced the extension of SEMI for an additional year. Nearly 2000 healthcare providers have joined the initiative already. 
 
What do I need to participate?
First you’ll need Misys eScript, Misys Healthcare’s web-based e-prescribing solution. You’ll also need to meet the basic eligibility requirements and enroll in the program by May 31, 2007.
 
Who is eligible to receive this incentive?
This incentive is for doctors that practice in the following Michigan counties: Arenac, Bay, Clinton, Eaton, Genesee, Gratiot, Ingham, Isabella, Jackson, Lapeer, Livingston, Macomb, Midland, Monroe, Oakland, Saginaw, Shiawassee, St. Clair, Tuscola, Washtenaw, Wayne.
 
When does the enrollment period end?
To qualify for the $1000 incentive, you must enroll by May 31, 2007.
 
When will I get my incentive payment?
You will receive a first installment of $250 once you “go live” on the Misys eScript e-prescribing system. You will then receive a second installment of $750, six months after going live, provided that you have actively used e-prescribing in your practice.
